Organisers are delighted to announce that at the end November there are 24 pre-registered choirs and orchestras for the next year event. These ensembles originate from 10 countries round the world - Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, United Kingdom, USA and of course Czech Republic. 24.10.2011 FESTIVAL VENUE
The venue of young2012prague is the National House of Vinohrady - beautiful neo-renaissance building built in 1894. Together with St. Ludmila church it is one of the dominant buildings on Namesti Miru square. The National House of Vinohrady is located very close to the city centre with an easy access by tram and underground. The festival competition results are now available on this website. Hundreds of images which participants have seen on the screen during the Disco following the Awards evening should be loaded and made available overnight!
1.4.2011 FESTIVAL OPENED
young2011prague started yesterdy with the reception of ensembles' leaders at the Prague Old Town-Hall by the representatives of the city. The official part of the festival was opened this morning with the outstanding performance of the Czech leading children choir Bambini of Praga. The festival continues with competition perfomances this afternoon and Get-Together party in the evening. The parade through the city centre is scheduled for 16:00 tomorrow. The festival results will be announced at the Awards evening on Saturday night!
18.3.2011 OLD TOWN SQUARE
The Parade of all the ensembles which takes place on Saturday afternoon culminates at the Old Town Square where all the participants play and sing the festival joint composition. The Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti in Czech) is the main historical square in Prague. With its famous astronomical clock, ancient buildings and magnificent churches dating back to the 12th century this is one of the most beautiful historical sights in Europe. 11.3.2011 THE PETEBOX
Three weeks remain before the festival opens. Most ensembles arrive on Thursday evening. Get-Together takes place in National House of Vinohrady on Friday evening when all the ensembles have a first chance to meet and greet and present themselves. Definitely an event not to be missed!
At the Disco Party on Saturday following the Awards shall be a very special guest - The Petebox, who had participated few years ago and enjoyed audience´s great admiration. Quoting Ed Potton in The Times: "I've been writing about music for ten years but I've never come across anyone quite like Pete. There are one-man bands, but the concept of a one-man recording studio is something else entirely. This is a deeply talented, quietly charismatic man, and a damn nice one to boot. He is destined for great things."
18.2.2011 EVENT GETTING CLOSE
Organisers report the latest participation figures - definite participation of 22 choirs and orchestras. They come from Bulgaria, Denmark, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, Italy, Latvia Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, USA and of course the host country the Czech Republic.
The total number of paricipants in 2011 is 800 young people - young2011prague will be great and memorable festival.
21.10.2010 NOT REGISTERED YET?
Up to the date there are 17 choirs and ensembles from 10 countries of the world and registrations keep coming. With the registration deadline for participation two months away (15 December 2010) organizers expect the numbers to grow up. If you are not registered yet the right time is now!
9.9.2010 YOUNG2011PRAGUE OPENING CONCERT
young2011prague shall be opened by performance of the Bambini di Prague.
Bambini di Praga children choir have unrivalled position among the top Czech singing groups. In the course of years they were guests at many famous musical festivals all around the world - Paris, Berlin, Osaka, Roma, Tokyo, New York, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Boston, Jerusalem, Abu Dhabi, Soul, Oslo, Monte Carlo, Leipzig and many others.
In close co-operation with Czech and foreign publishers, Bambini di Praga has recorded and released over 20 CDs. The choir has featured in many TV programmes and co-operates
with famous Czech orchestras. Their performance is at the highest level, most
impressive - unforgettable experience!
8.4.2010 young2011prague ready
young2011prague festival programme is almost ready and shall be made public in few days. There shall be some
changes in the favorite festival programme. Based on experience of 2010 the festival commitee
have decided to move the popular Get-together Party from Thursday to Friday evening thus giving
chance to participate also to those coming late. There also will be other minor changes
and amendments in the festval competiton conditions. More soon on this website and on www.ifbbohemia.cz
