Introduction

The young2013prague festival will be already the eleventh in the line of youngprague festivals. The event was established in 2003 and within few years became known worldwide as most popular venue for young people aged 8-26 who have an active interest in music and choir singing. Organisers again, like the years before, expect to welcome up to a thousand young people from all over the world in 2013. Friendly, cultural ambience of Prague as a venue is unique. Participants will have a chance to show their talent and skill, meet new friends and at the same time to enjoy the beauty of the most attractive city in Central Europe.

Festival concept

The festival consists of two parts: A - public presentations; B - competition. Participants shall be young orchestras and choirs in both categories.

A) Public presentations

Participants - choirs, orchestras and other music ensembles (even non-traditional) - shall have one or two performances (as required) and will learn and rehearse and perform one joint composition with all the other participants.

B) Competition part

The orchestra competition shall have four categories a) symphony&string orchestras; and b) brass/wind music orchestras and c) jazz orchestras and d) other music (pop, folklore...).

The choir competition shall have five categories a) mixed choirs, b) boys/young man choirs, c) girls choirs, d) children choirs, e)spiritual, gospel, jazz. pop

Detailed information shall be posted on receipt of the preliminary registration form.

The dates of young2013prague are 21st March-24th March 2013 (Thursday-Sunday)

Festival organiser

The festival is organised by Events Bohemia in co-operation with Music Travel Agency Prague. Both companies are experienced organisers of international musical and cultural festivals, events and travel (more information on www.eventsbohemia.cz, www.agencyMTA-Stadler.com)

The following price chart offers package price in different accommodation categories:

Package price includes:

participation fee in young2013prague programme
three overnights in a hotel of your choice
three breakfasts

guided city tour of Prague
services of a local guide for all festival programme activities in English or German language
one free place for every 20 paying participants

Accommodation is usually in twin-bedded rooms in 3* and 4*hotels. Usual solution in 2* hotels is that two twin-bedded rooms or twin and tripple rooms share private facilities.

The prices are valid provided that there are at least 60% of young people/students up to 26 years of age in a group.

The price does not include:

transportation. (Please note that organisers would be happy to arrange transportation to/from festival functions as per your requirements.)

Optionals not included in the price and recommended for consideration:

second (for competing ensembles) or third (for non-competing ensembles) public performance
evening river cruise (5 Eur per person)
